These are some curlers my mom got called curlformers. You put them in wet like sponge curlers.

Because the city has no snow plows or trucks to spray de-icer stuff on the roads, we are shutting down tomorrow. Gov't workers and schools are cancelled. We are having a snow day!! 11 years in Utah and not one snow day. I really hate the snow worse here. In SLC, it was expected and we put up with it, but here it's just wrong to see snow on palm trees, so it makes me mad.

So today we woke up to snow. It started out typical for here. A few small flakes and nothing sticking. Then the flakes got bigger, and it started to stick a little. Alysson was freaking out. She has been asking when it was going to snow, and I keep telling her is didn't snow here. So when she saw this, she had to call daddy and grandma Marty to make sure they heard. We went outside ASAP to build a snowman because I assumed it would melt quickly. Then it snowed for 8 more hours straight. NO JOKE! I bet we have 4 or 5 inches. I have never seen it like this here. So, of course we had to go back out, and this time Alysson wore snow pants so she could make snow angels. And before I get any comments, I know our snowman is pathetic. We made him earlier when there wasn't as much snow. Everyone is so funny here. It seems like everyone was outside taking pictures of their houses in the snow, and I could here all the neighborhood kids playing outside when school got out. I wish I got as excited about the snow. But I did feel at home with all the snow covered roofs..jpg)

For whatever reason, Scott's hours have been especially hard on Alysson the past couple of weeks. I think because he is on home call at the VA, so she thinks he's home to play, and then he has to go in to the hospital. Who knows. Anyway, when Scott has to go in, she always asks why daddy has to go to work. I say things along the lines of "people are sick, and he needs to help." Today she said she was sick (not true) and needed help so daddy should stay home. So I told her daddy had to go to work so we could have money to eat. To which she replied, "But we don't eat money; that would be gross."

So, I've finally decided to blog again. I don't really know why I stopped. I think I got so caught up in having to blog everything that was even somewhat noteworthy that I got overwhelmed. Plus, I'm just so tired by the end of the day. But oh well. I really want this to be a way to look back at our lives in this crazy time when Scott was in residency and our kids were little.
Anyway, here is a quick update, and then I'll include some photos. Alysson started school in September. There are 5 other kids her age in the neighborhood and ward. So, the moms decided to organize a little preschool that rotated houses each week. It was at our house this week. I was pretty hesitant when we got invited to do this because I really didn't want to have to teach. But, the first half of the year is winding down, and I've only had to teach 3 times, and it's free and close. Half the time we can walk. Plus, Alysson has really bonded with the other kids. I'm really happy we did this now. Alysson's birthday is in a few weeks; she'll be 4!!! She wants a dinosaur party, so I'm working on that. Here is a picture to show off how cute she is. We went to a Christmas thing at the park and the greatest face painter of all time was there.
Scott is still working hard. I don't know how he does it with the lack of sleep. Most of his colleagues aren't even married, let alone have kids. My mom asked me the other day if I would trade places, and I said I'd consider going to work, but never in a million years would I go to medical school or do a residency.
Nothing new in my life except I have this weird guilt about santa. This is the first year Alysson has asked me questions about him, like where does he live, how does he get in the house, etc. I always thought I would love playing along, but I feel like I'm lying.
So, for Thanksgiving, we went to the Provo area to be with family. My aunt reserved this jumping/gymnastics place for everyone. It was tons of fun. I included this picture of my dad because it makes me laugh every time I see it. There was a huge track to run on and jump over some blocks into a foam pit. So, my dad tried a flip in the pit, but only completed about half of it.
Anyway, here are ton of pictures. Everytime I've take pictures, I think, I'll blog now because I want this one to be seen. So here is a slideshow of the past few months.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember about me!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments. This could be really really fun--and interesting--can't wait to reminisce with each of you! :)

So my ward does a babysitting co-op. It's pretty cool. Everyone takes a turn every few weeks, and if you need a babysitter Monday-Friday from 9-12 or 12-3 there is always someone scheduled. You "pay" with tickets, and "earn" tickets when it's your day to host. So anyway, we had co-op today. 10 kids running around my house for 3 hours. I pretty much just wandered around every few minutes counting kids to make sure they were all still here.
Anyway, I was cleaning up after they all left when I found a special surprise in the bathroom. The youngest potty-trained boy had just used it and left a mess everywhere. It was on the wall, the floor, the rug, pretty much everywhere. I have never experienced this since my boy is still a baby. Girls do not have this problem. Girls are so much more dainty.
The girls here today would love and pet Yoshi, but the boys would yell and chase him. Poor dog. And Alysson is so into dinosaurs lately. She wants a dinosaur party and has a whole bunch that she plays with all day long. But I noticed another difference today. To her, the dinosaurs are her babies. She feeds them, bathes them, puts them to bed. The boys made them roar and fight.
The boys turned everything into a contest, which usually progressed to a fight. The girls all wanted to take turns to hold Carson.
I just want Carson to stay a baby so I don't have to have a dirt-digging, wall-peeing, sword-swinging, bug-catching preschooler.
